Allstate Corporation Chairman and CEO Tom Wilson to Serve as Keynote Speaker for Chicago Urban League’s Annual SUMMIT Luncheon

Four Young Chicagoans to be Recognized as Innovators

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Chicago Urban League is proud to announce that Tom Wilson, Chairman and CEO, The Allstate Corporation, will be the keynote speaker at its annual SUMMIT Luncheon on May 2, 2016 at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Avenue from 11:30a.m. — 1:30p.m. The widely anticipated event attracts more than 600 business leaders, community stakeholders and policy makers. This year’s theme is “Blueprint for Change: From Ideas to Collective Impact.”

“We are extremely honored that Tom Wilson has accepted our invitation to speak at this year’s SUMMIT Luncheon. His leadership and impact make him a highlight for this event,” said Chicago Urban League President and CEO Shari Runner. “Transformational socioeconomic change requires moving from a focus of a siloed approach to collective leadership capacities, something in which Tom is well-practiced. We look forward to him sharing his insight on this approach.”

Runner also notes that those who attend the luncheon can expect a spirited discussion that invites solutions and action.

As is tradition, the Chicago Urban League will recognize several young Chicagoans as Innovators. Each has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to Chicago’s African American community using various platforms including economic development, the arts, philanthropy and community activism. They are:

Todd Belcore, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Social Change

Jahmal Cole, Founder “My Block, My Hood, My City”

Jessica Disu, Humanitarian Rap Artist

Jerald Gary, President and CIO Community Capital Investment Partners (CCIP) and Chairman of the Chicago Regal Foundation

“Solutions to the many daunting issues facing Chicago will come from a diversity of thought and action,” said Runner. “I am truly inspired by the success of local changemakers, whose work is making a tremendous impact on our city and inspiring others to identify and advance solutions.”
