“We are pleased to host the Illinois Candidates for Governor in this forum,” said Frank Whittaker, Station Manager/Vice President of News, NBC Chicago. “Our commitment to political coverage is unmatched in Chicago. We look forward to giving voters a look at where each candidate stands on important issues facing our state.”
“The Union League Club of Chicago (ULCC) has a commitment to community and country,” said Edward L. Cooper III, ULCC President. “It is this mission that motivates our partnership of the forum, which we hope will bring more awareness to the community.”
“Many communities in Chicago and across Illinois are facing significant challenges when it comes to access to jobs, high-quality education, and affordable and safe places to live. The next governor of our state can play a significant role in addressing these issues,” said Barbara Lumpkin, Interim President and CEO of the Chicago Urban League. “We are pleased to partner in this forum and provide an opportunity for discourse that can help voters make an informed decision as they head to the polls in November.”
The forum can be seen live, on NBC 5, NBCChicago.com and TelemundoChicago.com. A replay of the forum will also be subtitled in Spanish at 10:30pm, on Telemundo Chicago.
